After the baby is born, again Mary and Joseph have to take to the road. The wise men come from the East. They are magi, that is to say they are also astrologers. They read the signs in the stars. They have recognized the star of Jesus, and have come to worship him. But they also warn the parents of the child that they too have to set out as refugees, because they are being sought by the wicked king who is afraid that the newborn child will threaten him, as he is being foretold as being the new King of the Jews.
