Mahatma Gandhi said that for him Jesus was the Satyagrahin, the man who held by the Truth and was willing to die for the truth. Jesus dies on the wood of the Banyan Tree (Ficus Religiosa) that is thought to represent the tree of Wisdom, but also the Universe. On either side of Jesus two other transgressors were hung to die. One of these joined in with those who mocked Jesus, but the other expressed his deep admiration of Jesus, and through his words of devotion, gained eternal life.
